Searcys are thrilled to have been awarded the Event Caterer of the Year at The Foodservice Cateys 2022, sponsored by The Simple Root.

Searcys is the brainchild of John Searcy, who founded the company in 1847.  A creative and culinary force of nature, John began his illustrious career as the confectioner for the Duke of Northumberland, before taking his talents to London to establish the company in the capital. In 2022, we have been celebrating our 175th birthday by marking decades of warm British hospitality and fantastic events taking place across our venues in the capital and beyond, engaging with our customers, our people and the communities we operate in.

Now in residence at 18 unique venues across the UK, from historical venues including The HAC and conference and event venues such as The View at the Royal College of Surgeons, to unique spaces including the urban jungle of the Barbican conservatory, Searcys also operates beautiful restaurants and bars including Helix at the Gherkin and St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne Bar.

We pride ourselves on offering a taste of indulgence to its customers, serving fresh, seasonal dishes that focus on sustainability alongside extensive Champagne and wine lists, paired with world-class service and expert event catering.

At the core of our culinary ethos are British modern cuisine and seasonal ingredients with sustainability at heart. This has included a significant revamp of Searcys’ supply chain to focus on seasonal and quality produce, a commitment to reduce the use of plastic, including being one of the first restaurant groups to completely remove plastic straws, alongside switching to metal cutlery, china crockery and glassware.

Charity support is also at the core of Searcys’ DNA. This year we are honouring our heritage with a donation pledge of £175,000 to be raised for charities to celebrate our 175th anniversary, with £87,000 being raised so far (January-July 2022). Some examples include charity fundraiser dinners at The Gherkin, St Pancras and The HAC and supporting #CookforUkraine UNICEF appeal (£11,000 contribution).
